AWO Sonthofen presents children at the table with school bags for the beginning of school

For many children, the first day of school is an unforgettable experience – and their own school bag is a symbol of this nine phase of life. In order to ensure that this special day is not overshadowed by financial worries, the Workers’ Welfare (AWO) Sonthofen regularly advocates for families with low incomes.

As part of the local AWO board Sonthofen, lovingly designed school bags are handed over to children whose families use the offer of the table at the beginning of school.

The most important thing about the school bag action of the AWO Sonthofen

• Aim of the campaign: to enable all school freshmen – regardless of the financial situation of the parental home – a cheerful and equal opportunity start to school.

• Contents of the school bags: The bags are usually filled with useful school materials (such as pens, blocks, painting supplies), but also with small treats and toys.

• Community support: such actions are made possible by the active help of volunteers.
