KiMut
Worker welfare tells the struggle for child poverty
What is frightening and at the same time shameful is how many children still live in our country in poverty today. It is above all worst that their chances of good education are small, the development of their specific talents is practically not possible and their participation in social life is very limited. Not exactly rosy future perspectives. This has an impact on the whole society: resources lie fallow, talents wither away: “We are taking the future in our society.”
The KiMut project was founded by the workers' welfare. It was not only to be seen back then that child poverty would still rise, even though the economy developed well. Now the workers' welfare service is doubly happy to have this fund of aid.
So far, for example, it was possible to help with the financing of participation in various projects and actions.
At its core, it is about encouraging children to develop self-confidence, participate in social life and open up better prospects for the future through individual promotion. We must move away from the principle of "once poor - always poor", which is still a sad reality in Germany. Even children from less incoming families should not lose faith in themselves and confidence in their own abilities.
The recipients of the funding are directly recommended to the AWO by the State School Office or by individual school principals, teachers or teachers. This wants to help in an unbureaucratic way. Those who are “poor” don’t like to come out. In school or kindergarten, the educators often reveal the first clear signs whether talents of children from the parents' interest are not encouraged, or are neglected for financial need. That is why we have chosen these partners. Parents or children themselves could certainly turn to teachers. All requests will be treated confidentially.
Children from the entire Oberallgäu region can enjoy the promotion. The fund is fed from the contributions of the local association itself and from individual donations by companies and private individuals.
